5th Edition Dungeon Ideas

The new campaign will be taking place in the 4th civilization. The old gods have raised some of their most faithful followers to create new gods whose number is now over 20!

The new dungeon lies in a mountain dell that is beside  a water fall whose waters run into a lake so close by that the water still froths from its airy tumble . Here a boom town  has risen since the discovery of ruins from the second Civilization. The mines, dwellings and tunnels whos purpose is unknown waited for those with strength and guts enough to plumb their depths. Here there is a snow covered mountain, a river, a waterfall, a boom town, a boot hill, a temple, forest, a valley that contains a lake, a fairy glade, a large magical meddow, a group of stone ruis above ground and a druid grove on the opposite side of the mountain from the valley.

New Dungeons Location
It is located in what is now an area uninhabited for millennia. The land is remote from other human habitations. It was abandoned after the great battle that was fought and lost by the forces of good. The land there about is now infested with the worst kind of evil humanoids who are the remains of the armies responsible for the destruction of the city that lie here in days gone by.

The city of old was built on the top of a mountain. Over 450 years the success of the mountaintop mines had extended both the habitations and the excavatons down the sides of the mountain almost to the foothills at its base that ringed the peaceful lake that was fed by the snowy heights. It had  covered it with a combination of buildings, terisced orchards and gardens, mines that run deep into the mountain, Water and magic had carved caves that were eaten deep in tho the rock and earth of the mountain itself. These had over time been given over to occupation of the evil spirits the occupiers of the city had left behind. Some of the holes in the rock led to animal lairs, some led to burial crypts, others led to civic storage areas from the Old City.  Many tunnels  connected to the mines that were the original reason for the city to be built here.

Over time the society that lived underground heard of the fortunes that the evil forces had won. Their driving away the original owners made it possible for them to connect tunnels from their realms to the mountain fastness. This was very lucrative and sufficed to  fund several families to become noble within the peoples of the Downbelow.

The idea here is to:
Create a situation where there are a selection of adventurers that are both large small, one shot and long form, outdoor and dungeon all in the same area.
Key points
The scenarios will be fairly small and of different Encounter levels. They will be designed to highlight a specific set of proficiencies and class abilities to give all the players a chance to sign. Where in past campaigns the emphasis was to create a single naritive, this adventure should be about short stories.
Also, having the players know that there are places to go where they can find an adventure that is suited to tbe level composition of a reduced number of players will make it easier to organize a game on the fly.
In many ways this concept is similar to Cheesy Hill in that there is a lot of stuff that could be hiding within the tumbled rocks that cover the slopes of the mountain.

The maps of this place will be problematical in some areas. Since the mountain is conical (for the most part), it is important to describe the location of the adventurers in terms of a conical section and not just a NS/EW kind of way.
I think a map laid out as concentric circles where the center of the circles is the top of the mountain and the other consecutively larger concentric circles are lower in elevation.
Although this won't be sufficient for mapping purposes for all the adventures it will be illustrative enough to clearly locate the entrance points and the area occupied.
