This is a creature that lives all it's life underground. They have an incredable phisyognomy. The digest rock and break it down turning it into life sustaining substances and adding the hardest parts of the rock into their own body.
They have heads shaped like a bullet, eyes on stalks, tenticles on the underside and thick scales along the top.
The head is covered with a thick layer of stone that is just a little softer than diamonds. They use the stony, bullet shape to smash through solid rock. They break it up with their head into pieces about 1/3 the diameter of their  body, then use the tenticles in the front to draw it under the hard head to the mouth. The mouth is located on the underside of the worm just back from the head. The mouth draws the rock into the creatures body. There is a tunnel-like stomach which is lined with rock that constricts further breaking down the rock they swallowed. Once the rock is like gravel, it is further drawn down the length of the worm into a soft intestine that uses hydrochloric acid like fluids to turn the rock into a heavy slimy liquid. The hardest part of the rock is incorporated into the body of the worm with the rest of the substance being excreeted from the body at two points. There is one asshole on the top of the worm just behind the stony head. The other is at the end of the tail. Both of these orafaces may spit the excreeted substance. This stuff is liquid when it comes out, but hardens to stone within a round!
They can use this both as an attack and as a defense. In an attack the stuff shoots out and strikes a person. They take damage and unless they make a reflex ST, they are immobilized. If they are hit a second time, they can not perform any action other than verbal. They know how to excreet and use the tail to form a irregular wall of stone.
These fantastic creatures travel about 1/2 a mile per year. They create rough tunnels with a flattend bottom where the rocky excrement has filled the rounded tunnel. More than one person has made their fortune by digging up this rock and discovering the valuable minerals and metals the worm did not digest. They pass unaltered through the worm's body and end up out the other end.
The creatures add rings to their body as they age. They are added at the front of the worm. Thus the creature is smaller at the back end than in the front givin them a tapered shape. They start out at 3' diameter and never get bigger around than 10' around. They add a ring gradually in about 5 years. Naturally, the tunnels they dig are just larger than their diameter at the time they were digging them. The normal worm maze will have diamerers of different sizes.
