Krom: (Sleepily) Are we there yet?

Nar: Together, they are Local 509

(Rousing Local 509 music)

Tonight, you will hear how Local 509 got their name.

(Tavern sounds, with the end of a song by Stallen being sung)

"if you'ld give me that ring she said

I'ld draw my bow and shot you dead"

(Smattering of applause)

Timber: Well played sir! Come and join us if you would have a drink.

Stallen: Don't mind if I do. Many thanks

(As a chair is pulled across a wooden floor)

Timber: (Shouting to offstage) Wine for the singer and another for me as well!

Pisheo: You sing prettily.

Stallen: Praise from an Elf for one's voice is high praise indeed.

Timber: Aye, and she is not given to complents

Stallen: I've seen you here before haven't I.

(Sounds of glasses clinking as they are set on the table)

Timber: My friend and I come here often and have heard you before.

Domar: (his speech slightly slurred) Another song!

Katrina: Dromar, let him drink his wine

Pisheo: (Plesently) The gnome enjoyed it too.

Stallen: (Joking) A drunks praise I value somewhat less than yours fair one.

Dromar: (Mutters something unintelligible)

Katrina: (Scandalized) You must watch your manners!

Dromar: (Loudly) He will play!

Timber: (Louder) When he chooses and not before.

Dromar: (Shouting) He will choose to play now, or find himself unable!

(Sounds of chairs being drawn back and and a general uproar)

Krom: Draw your swords sirs, and I'll have the liver out both of you!

Galranwyn: (Shouting over the din) Sit down and finish your drinks or I'll have to spell your mouths closed for a day or two.

(The sounds of the uproar fade and Dromar's grunts and Timber's sounds of disappointment are heard)

Stallen: I will happily play if it will bring peace again.

Dromar: (Hotly) That’s all I asked anyway.

Galranwyn: I say he shall rest before his next song. (Grandly) It is the rule in this tavern that those who drink too much be magically sobered. Take your punishment gnome!

(The sounds of a spell being cast as Dromar says)

[A sober spell sound effect consists of the words "ahol min now" and a loud sucking sound followed by a pop]

Dromar: You can't do that to me! I'm a mage too and I'll… (The spell is complete and his voice changes immediately). Oh damn. A whole night's drinking and I'm sober as a judge.

Krom: Sorry bud, but we are here to keep the peace.

Galranwyn: The owner values it's customers and it is also the law here that those sobered are entitled to a drink on the house. I suggest that we all sit down and enjoy each other's company for a time. It's the best way to put unpleasantness behind you.

Katrina: Good idea. Dromar, give me a hand with this table.

(Sounds of tables and chairs being moved around)

Dromar: Perhaps I was too insistent.

Stallen: (Smilingly) Perhaps, but no offense was taken.

Timber: It is behind us now and there's the end to it. The robed one there has the right of it; let's get to know each other better. My name is Timber and my friend here is named Pisheo.

Stallen: My name is Stallen, the big one here is Krom and the "robed one" as you name her, is called Galranwyn.

Katrina: I am Katrina and this is Dromar.

Dromar: Good to meet you all.

Outline:

Setup-Stallen is singing at a tavern where Galranwyn and Krom are working as peacekeepers. Timber and Pisheo are sipping wine and listening to Stallen. Katrina and Dromar are at a different table. Dromar is very drunk. When Stallen finishes his song, Ti and Pi invite him over for a drink. Dromar wants another song and is very loud about demanding that St. begin singing again. Timber defends Stallen's right to rest when he wants and trouble threatens to erupt.

Krom threatens violence if a fight begins, and Galranwyn casts a "Soberness" spell on Dromar to punish him for making trouble. After things calm down, Galranwyn suggests the combatants have a drink together. They introduce themselves and begin to get on very well.

The bar has closed, but the group stays behind to continue their conversation. Stallen tells them of a place he knows called "The House of Stone" were legends tell of vast amounts of treasure can be found. They are discussing their various skills and the like with the idea of banding together to attempt to enter this dangerous place.

Once they have all agreed to try this, they are visited by a messenger from the
