I used the d20 version of the Weird West rules.
They worked well and the transition to this game system was very
smooth. The weapons and the monsters worked well. The western flavor
really came through. THe group mostly thought it was very fun.
But I screwed up. I presented a scenerio that disn't have a clear end
game and got bogged down in a lot of details that weren't helping. They
got bored!

It was set in an alternate USA history during
the 8th year of the civil war which had spread to the western states.
Specifially it was placed in the Arizona area. The characters were playing a group of Union spies
that had been assassinated and buried in the desert. When they
mysteriously returned to life, they had were naked and had no
memories, so part of the early adventure was finding food clothes and
their names!
